Palliative care is given to individuals suffering from serious illnesses like cancer, liver damage, heart failure, kidney failure, etc. Patients with such illnesses are treated with utmost care and support both physically & mentally through medications, exercises, music therapy, mind-relaxing sessions, etc. According to WHO claims it has been said that there are nearly 38-41 million people in need of palliative care and nearly 70% of the individuals are from low to middle-income countries. Our motto of the Palliative conference is to focus on increasing the number of facilities to contact palliative care providers.

 

Social care focus on the personal & professional care of individuals with disabilities in learning, physical inabilities, and mental disorders. Social workers help people to conquer those inabilities through physical & practical activities, and personal & social care leading to a comfortable life. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients. The major principles of social care are compassion, respect, support, dignity & well-being. This topic is being discussed because there are only 10% of palliative care individuals are receiving social care around the world

 

Emotional care is provided for people having different mixed emotions such as Bereavement, grief or loss, anxiety, sadness, anger issues, etc. These emotions can only be coped with the support of specialists, psychologists, counsellors or social groups. CDC report states that only one of 10 individuals have never received any mental & emotional support which can be changed if all the palliative care workers join together. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients.

Spiritual care is provided to individuals with health challenges through the motivation of inner aspects of the health of an individual that is to enhance the spirit or soul and prepare them mentally to face the situation. Spiritual care helps to focus on the inner peace an individual tends to get when they do the things they like, spend time with people they like, or by following the spiritual path. It has been recorded that all individuals around the globe are showing interest in spiritual care to enhance their quality of life. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients.

Mental health deals with the well-being of an individual in all the aspects such as emotional health, and psychological health. Mental health is important as a person’s reaction depends on how he or she reacts to a situation. A psychologist or psychiatrist helps to maintain mental health to make healthy choices in life. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients.

Diseases like cancer, heart failure, asthma, and diabetes are very expensive when started getting treatment which can lead to stress and financial pressure on the patient or the family of the patient. A social worker or palliative advisor can help to know the details of the support we can get from the low-cost medicines, health insurance & claims, etc. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients. Financial support is important not only for the patient but also for the children or family of the patient who was dependent on the patient.

Physical care for the symptoms like Pain, restlessness or fatigue, nausea, vomiting, headache, shortness of breath, sleeping disorders, muscle spasm, etc. will be treated through a healthy diet, nutrition & fitness training, and anti-nausea medicines. Palliative care is given to the patient who is undergoing treatment for cancer to slow down, treat & cure cancer. It has been believed that palliative care during the cancer treatment or the journey of a cancer patient improves the quality of treatment to enhance the response of the mental & physical body to the medications. Elderly care is also known as the care for senior citizens who are unable to take care of themselves at the end of life. As everyone knows aging can’t be denied or stopped as it happens as time passes. Elderly care helps to deal with the arising symptoms & conditions like memory loss, Alzheimer’s, and dementia, etc. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients.

Pediatric palliative care is provided for children who are suffering from serious illnesses or living the last days of their life. The major motto of the event is to provide relief from the symptoms & stress caused during the medications or treatment for the illness. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients. Pediatric palliative care is not only given to the children but also given to the family who is lacking emotional support during the journey.

Caregivers & parents are the ones who will take responsibility for their children and make sure that the child is growing up with a healthy lifestyle, and health by providing the basic values to get successful into an adult. End-of-life care includes the care provided during the last days of life to lead quality & peaceful life during the last few days of their life.  Nursing education during the palliative care process is given to the nurses who are going to take care of the palliative care patients by providing knowledge about the end-of-life experiences like pain, symptoms, mental & emotional support, and giving the ability to withstand the issues they are going to face in long term. Gerontology includes the changes which occur physically, mentally & emotionally in people as age passes. This study of aging individuals & the problems they face during old age includes gerontology. Whereas geriatrics is a branch of medicine that studies elderly patients leading to health & care for old people. Special care is given to oncology & cancer patients.

Trauma nursing specializes in the treatment, cure, and prevention of people dealing with traumatic injuries which may lead to serious illness and risk to their life. Trauma registered nurses will treat patients dealing with traumatic issues. We will be discussing the various nursing methodologies used in the treatment, care & prevention of diseases.
